Statement of Beliefs
1) God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He always has and always will exist in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are equal and are one God. We believe that God loves us, cares for us, and wants to have a relationship with every person.
Scripture Reference: 1 John 5:7, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
2) Jesus Christ is the Son of God and equal with God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice by dying on the cross. He rose again on the third day as a demonstration of his power over sin and death. He is now seated at the right hand of his Father and will one day return to set up his kingdom and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Scripture Reference: 1 Timothy 3:16, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."
3) Our sin has separated us from God, and no good works or self-improvements can be offered to make up for it. Only by personally accepting Jesus Christ and His blood sacrifice can we be delivered from sin's punishment. Eternal salvation is guaranteed the moment we accept Jesus' payment for our sins.
Scripture Reference: John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
4) The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.
Scripture Reference: John 16:7-14, "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you."
5) The Bible is God's word to all mankind. Human authors wrote as guided and inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. It has been preserved without error throughout history allowing us access to the very words of God. It is the supreme source of truth and is the final authority in all matters of faith and life.
Scripture Reference: Psalm 12:6-7, "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."
6) We were created to exist forever. We will either live with God forever in Heaven, or be eternally separated from God by sin. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. We believe it's possible for every individual to know, with certainty, where they will spend eternity.
Scripture Reference: 1 John 5:13, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."
7) We believe the ultimate mission of the church is to fulfill Jesus' instructions to tell the gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire world. The church is to train, encourage, and equip its members to carry out this mission.
Scripture Reference: Matthew 28:19-20, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
