Core Values
Our church is about helping people live transformed lives by the simple truth of loving God, loving people, and serving others. Everything we do is about helping people grow in one of these three areas. As we strive to proclaim God’s simple truth, we cling to five core values, which are the SPICE in everything we do:
- S—Selflessness (It’s Not All About Me)
P—Priorities (Keeping First Things First)
I—Integrity (Who You Are When No One is Watching)
C—Community (Compassionately Relating to Others)
E—Excellence (My Utmost for His Highest)
We trust that God is going to continue to do miraculous things in our church and community. God has confirmed our call to this community and so with all our might we will confidently strive to finish the course that He has given us to run. However, this will only be possible if the entire church pursues God with a sense of urgency and passion. If you’re looking for some spice in your life, I invite you to come along for the ride – it’s going to be a trip!
S—Selflessness
We value the interest of others above our own interest. We follow the example of Jesus (Philippians 2:3) and make ourselves servants to all.
Philippians 2:3 (KJV), “Let nothing be done through strife or vain-glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”
P—Priorities
We value the true priorities of life. God is our number one priority, followed by our family, ministry, and work. The busyness of life will not rob us of our life-giving connection with our heavenly Father.
Matthew 22:37-38 (KJV), “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.”
I—Integrity
We value a standard of integrity in all we do, whether it’s at church, work, or home. We strive to do the right thing, at the right time, in the right way, for the right reason.
Proverbs 20:7 (KJV), “The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.”
Psalm 26:11 (KJV), “But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.”
C—Community
We value community filled with compassionate followers of Christ. We are a place where people can come and feel accepted and loved regardless of their background.
1 Peter 3:8 (KJV), “Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:”
Mark 6:34 (KJV), “And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.”
E– Excellence
We value doing our very best for the Lord. This is not perfection, but simply doing the best we can with the resources available. God gives His very best for us and deserves our best in return.
